According to the Michigan Lupus Foundation, "Lupus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own healthy tissues and organs. Common symptoms include severe fatigue, joint pain, and unexplained fever. It is typically a difficult disease to diagnosis because symptoms mimic other illnesses. While there is no cure for lupus, symptoms may be controlled with certain medication and treatment."
You can help support those living with it by particpating in their annual walk on John Ball Zoo. For more information, click here.
