Suspect arrested in Holland bank robbery

HOLLAND, Mich. — Authorities say a 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Thursday bank robbery in Holland.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the robbery happened just before noon at at the West Michigan Community Bank at 82 Douglas Ave.

Deputies say the suspect implied he had a weapon and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No customers were inside the bank at the time of the robbery.

At about 2 p.m., investigators located the suspect’s vehicle in the 600 block of Douglas Avenue.  After further investigation, officials say they located the Holland Township man at the Pigeon Creek Park in West Olive.

He will be identified when he is formally charged.
