ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Fire crews are putting out some smoldering spots of a compost fire near Zeeland.

The fire is at Spurt Industries near Zeeland.  The compost is turned regularly to generate heat to help it decompose, but crews on the scene think that with the recent hot and dry weather, the pile got overheated.

Officials tell FOX 17 when crews arrived that approximately 50 yards were on fire.

No one was injured and no buildings were damaged.
