GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Drivers can expect slowdowns along I-196 as emergency crews work to clean up crashes in the area.
Westbound I-196 at US-131 closed around 8 p.m. Saturday evening due to a crash. It has since reopened.
MDOT also reported around 9 p.m. that westbound I-196 west of College Avenue (exit 78) was shutdown due to another crash. They’re also saying the freeway was closed at Fuller (exit 79) for a time. Drivers were encouraged to find an alternate route to avoid the area while crews investigate and clear the scenes.
