GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Family and friends gathered Thursday to remember a woman killed in September.

Ana Carrillo disappeared in September after last being seen in Wyoming.  Her body was found earlier this month.  Her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Hudson, is charged with her murder. He is expected to be in court on Monday.

Hundreds of people took part in the memorial service at Resurrection Fellowship Church in Grand Rapids.

Since Carrillo went missing in September, her family says they have wanted closure. At her memorial service, they say they finally got the closure they needed.

"It's very emotional," said Ruben Martinez, Carrillo's cousin-in-law. "The confusion we've had finally went away. I know every interview we've done before we had confusion and we got to lay her to rest. Our mission since day one was to believe in the man above and now Ana is with the man above."

The service began with song while a slideshow of pictures of Ana played in the background.

"Ana meant a lot to everyone," said Martinez. "Her family and everyone in here was surprised at how many people came, but that just shows how one person could have so much love and how one person could really mean so much to the community. It's just special and we want to thank everyone that came and prayed and have been with us since day one."

Carrillo's family tells FOX 17 they've been blown away by the support from the community and are thankful for their help in finally getting to bring her home and say goodbye.
