BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Police in Battle Creek say their officers were involved in a chase that turned deadly early Sunday.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when an officer noticed a car driving at a high-rate of speed all over the road.

The officer tried to stop the car near S.W. Capital and Golden Avenue but the driver took off, running several red lights and stop signs.

Police say the car ended up losing control on S. Raymond Road in Emmett Township and the driver died from their injuries at the scene.

The name of the driver is behind withheld until family can be notified.
