The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at about 10:46 a.m. on Myers Lake Avenue south of 14 Mile Road in Courtland Township.

The garbage truck was stopped in the road and the driver was standing on the back of it removing paint cans when police say a southbound vehicle hit him from behind.  He was pinned between the truck and the other vehicle, according to a release.
