COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — It took three hours to clean up a 6,100-gallon milk spill Friday night, after a semi truck overturned in Coopersville.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says in a new release no one was hurt, but the driver of the big-rig was cited for violation of the basic speed law, after failing to negotiate a curve. It happened at 68th Avenue and Randall Street around 6:25 p.m.

Police say a 2014 international semi belonging to Binkerd Trucking was heading to Continental Dairy – also on Randall Street – when it overturned in the roundabout.

The Sheriff’s Office says the driver was the only person in the semi, and it was the only vehicle involved.

Youngs Environmental, the Sheriff’s road patrol in Coopersville, John’s Towing, and Coopersville-Polkton Fire Rescue all responded to the scene.
