Betty Ford sculpture to be unveiled at presidential museum

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A sculpture of former first lady Betty Ford will be unveiled during a celebration of the 105th birthday of former President Gerald Ford in Grand Rapids.

The unveiling will follow a wreath-laying ceremony Saturday at 9 a.m. on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Members of the Ford family and other officials and guests will offer remarks and place wreaths and floral tributes at the base of the former first couple’s tomb.

Afterward, the museum will be open to the public free of charge. It’s featuring a special exhibit entitled “In Step with Betty Ford: A Celebration of Her Centennial.”

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation is hosting the ceremony.
