KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says it’ll release the name of a woman pedestrian who was fatally struck by two vehicles late Friday night, after notifying her family.

Public Safety says in a news release that officers responded around 10:08 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Kenbrooke Court. That’s between Drake Road and Howard Street. When they got there, officers found the 40-year-old woman lying on the road with severe injuries. DPS says life-saving measures were attempted, but she died at the scene.

The initial on-scene investigation revealed that the pedestrian had been struck by two different vehicles while crossing the street, according to police. They say the respective drivers were still at the scene when officers arrived. And investigators don’t believe alcohol played any role in the accident.

Anyone witnesses should contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994, or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
