New York woman killed in crash in Ionia County

ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A 20-year-old woman from New York died Tuesday morning in a crash in Ionia County.

The crash happened about 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of David Highway and Keefer Highway in Orange Township.

Deputies say Trinity Nellis, 20, was driving north on Keefer Highway and missed the stop sign at the intersection with David Highway. Her 2008 Honda Civic was hit by a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old St. Johns man. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Deputies say that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
