GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Grand Rapids.
The crash happened about 6:00 p.m. on South Division at about Garden Street. The woman, described as being middle-aged, was pronounced dead shortly after first responders arrived.
The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Walker man, and his passenger, remained at the scene and were cooperative, according to police. Police say that alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.
One witness told police that a second vehicle may have hit the woman a second time.
