Armed robbery at Check ‘N Go in Holland

HOLLAND, Mich. – Police are responding to an armed robbery at a Check ‘N Go in Holland.

The robbery happened just before 11:00 a.m. at the Check ‘N Go at 1111 Washington Avenue in Holland.

Early description of the suspect is a white man in a black ski mask, wearing a Michigan hooded sweatshirt.

Holland Christian School released a statement in reference to the reported lock down and robbery:

Shortly after 11:00 AM we received information from local law enforcement about a robbery on the south side of Holland. We were advised that Southside elementary go into a shelter in place while law enforcement searched for the suspect. Currently Southside school remains in shelter in place. Contrary to news reports no other campuses were advised to enter lock down procedure, nor were any Holland Public School facilities. Your children’s safety is our primary concern, thank you for trusting us and we are grateful for your partnership. As a reminder please do not reach out to any schools or the administration office during potential emergency procedures so that we can keep phone lines open and school personnel available to respond.

Southside Elementary school did go into a “shelter in place” while police search the area for the suspect. No other schools were affected.
