Hayes Street – from FOX 17 Skyview

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – County officials now know that farming equipment caused the significant damage on a stretch of Hayes Street in Ottawa County.

Video posted to the Coopersville Informed Facebook page shows a portion of Hayes Street between 32nd and 40th avenues torn to shreds.

The FOX 17 Skyview captured some of the damage. Permanent repairs will not occur until spring because it is currently too cold to pave. A temporary fix of placing limestone down is currently in the works. The stretch of road will be drivable as soon as Wednesday morning.

Signs will be placed on both ends of the road indicating rough driving conditions form the remained of the winter. Snow removal will also still occur without delay.

Those responsible for the equipment and damage will likely cover the cost through insurance. Taxpayers will not be on the hook for the fix.
