KENT COUNTY, Mich. — All lanes are clear following an alleged drunk driving crash early Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers in Kent County asked drivers to avoid the area of westbound I-96 at Leonard Street around 1 a.m.  while first responders worked to clear the scene of an accident.

Officials say an at-fault driver going west drove into the median of eastbound I-96 and went airborne over the cable barriers. The vehicle reportedly flipped, landed upside down and was struck by another vehicle.

One of the occupants involved was reportedly ejected, but was said to be awake and breathing.

Officials believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
