Michigan basketball coach John Beilein leaving for the NBA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan basketball coach John Beilein is leaving to become the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.

Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news Monday morning.

Beilein was coach of the Wolverines for the last 12 seasons.  He tweeted his thanks to the school, fans, students and players Monday morning.

Beilein racked up 278 wins while at Michigan with nine NCAA tournament appearances, two appearances in the Final Four, and two Big Ten season championships and two Big Ten Tournament titles.
