Man killed by semi-truck in Schoolcraft
SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich.– A man is dead after he was hit by a semi-truck on US-131 Tuesday morning.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says the victim may have been walking in the road when he was hit. Deputies have closed down US-131 around the 300 block of South Grand Street in Schoolcraft, Michigan.
Deputies say the semi was heading north on US-131 when it hit the 23-year-old Schoolcraft man, who was also walking north with the flow of traffic. His name is not yet being released. The truck driver is only identified as a 64-year-old from La Grange, Indiana.
Deputies say that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
