WYOMING, Mich.  —  The Wyoming Department of Public Safety says one person was injured Saturday evening in  a three-vehicle pin-in crash – and it turned out to be the alleged at-fault driver.

The location was 36th Street SW at Byron Center Avenue. The time was around 6:43 p.m.

Wyoming DPS tells FOX 17 in an email a Chevy Impala was speeding and ran the red light, striking a pickup truck broadside “hard enough to send it airborne and landed on  a northbound Chevrolet Malibu.

“Almost miraculously, the only injury is the at-fault driver…everyone else (emerged) completely unscathed, including a three-year-old in the Malibu.”

Police say the injured driver suffered serious injuries, but not “life-threatening”. No names had been released as of Saturday night.

The pickup truck ended up on the two other vehicles.

Kent County Dispatchers posted on their traffic page  that someone had to be pulled out of one of the vehicles.

Wyoming Public Safety police and fire-rescue crews responded to the scene, which cleared around 8 p.m.
