MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Authorities have located a missing and possibly endangered 12-day-old child.

Michigan State Police say Dakota Blackwood was with her mother, Ilah Mankel, and grandmother Linda Mankel. Both were taken into custody after being found.

There is a protective custody to remove her from the custody of the Mankels, which authorities say was being intentionally ignored.

Authorities say the family was living in Lowell before taking off with the infant.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Michigan State Police Rockford Post at 616-866-4411.

These articles really burn me! “Missing 12-Day old Baby Found Safe”…..With its Mother….!!
I get that there was a protective custody order in place and what they did was technically illegal. But seriously, don’t lead us to believe that a baby’s been abducted by aliens or some stranger. This is why I don’t read or listen to the news but once or twice a month.
