GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police have taken a suspect into custody after a standoff that lasted five hours.
The 29-year-old man was wanted for several warrants, including some violent felonies. Police attempted to arrest the man earlier Friday afternoon before he was seen running into a house on Boston Street NE.
Negotiators spent the next several hours talking with the man before he eventually surrendered without incident.
Nearby streets were closed down during the incident, but police say the public was never in danger.
