Crews pull man’s body from Grand River in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man’s body was pulled from the Grand River Monday evening after two hours of searching.

Emergency responders were called around 5 p.m. to the river after a man went underwater while walking in the river. The search continued until 7 p.m. when he was found.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but weren’t successful.

The Grand Rapids Fire Department said the victim is a homeless man who lived nearby. His identity wasn’t immediately released.

    When are people going to learn that river is nothing to mess with. There’s been so many drownings lately, on the big lake, inland lakes and now the river. Sad.
