GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Today's mystery high school football program is Belding High School, which went 7-3 in 2018 and made the playoffs for a third straight season.
The Black Knights have a new coach this fall, since Joe Schwander moved on to lead Forest Hills Eastern. Belding hired Monty Price, who was 82-11 the last eight years as head coach at Reed City.
The Black Knights will once again run the wing-T offense, which they ran under Irv Sigler in the 1990s when they won a pair of state championships.
Belding also returns with a ton of experience from last fall, led by Cole Reeves, who played quarterback last fall, running backs Riley Hart and Tyler Cooper, and returning on the line are Jonny Ross, Drew Riches, and Matthew Greene.
The Black Knights play Hopkins, Godwin Heights and Kelloggsville all twice this year in the OK Silver and will take on Oakridge in Week 1. the Eagles beat them 59-29 in the first round of the playoffs last season.
