CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle in Kent County.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. on 28th Street east of Charlevoix Drive.

Investigators say the pedestrian, an 18-year-old Grand Rapids man, was walking across the road when he was hit by the vehicle. He was wearing dark clothing when the crash happened.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a head injury. Authorities said he remained in critical condition Wednesday.

Alcohol and drugs aren’t believed to be factors.
