5 arrested after Grand Haven car break-ins

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Five people are facing charges after a rash of car break-ins over the weekend.

The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety says the incident happened in the area of Grand Avenue and Gladys Street at 2 a.m. Saturday.

Officers arrived to find five people, three juveniles and two adults, stealing from a car.

All of them were arrested and the stolen property was recovered and police are hoping to return it to the owners.

    That’s great,but now what?Release them to do it again?90 days in jail?These sound like future phone and gun store burglars.There’s no deterrent to crime anymore.The push is to decriminalize and release felons early. By the time these thugs are put away for 20 years,they will have committed a long list of crimes.Build more prisons please and if a repeat offender,give him 5 years away from the rest of us who’d rather have a decent city.
