Fatal crash involving semi closes Ottawa Co. intersection

JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A driver was killed after a crash involving a semi at an Ottawa County intersection.

The crash happened around 9:13 a.m. Friday at 24th Avenue and Byron Road.

Authorities said a pickup truck going north didn’t stop at a four-way stop at the intersection and hit the trailer of the semi-truck, trapping the vehicle underneath.

Witnesses told deputies the semi was making a left turn when the crash happened,  and said it had come to a complete stop before going through the intersection.
