Hi there! My name is Alina Hauter and I’m ecstatic to be in Grand Rapids. My grandmother always said I’d end up on television in some way, shape, or form, and now I’m a multimedia journalist at FOX17!
I had a very non-traditional childhood as I grew up on an Air Force base in South Korea. I’ve been in news for six years now, starting as an operations technician at FOX31 in Denver, Colorado. It was in CO that I earned my undergrad degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver in Communications – Broadcasting.
I moved here from Billings, Montana where I was a reporter and anchor for KTVQ for three years. I’ve also had the opportunity to live in beautiful places like Honolulu, Hawaii and Pensacola, Florida, which has given me a unique perspective when it comes to storytelling.
I believe everyone has a story to tell, even if they might not realize it, and I want to be the person who brings those stories to life. If you see me on the street, or in a news car, say hi! I love meeting new people and seeing new places, and I’m so excited to learn more about the area’s culture and community.
If you have a story idea that you’d like to share, email me at alina.hauter@fox17online.com.
