    KDPS looking for suspect in shooting

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting that happened around 2:20 a.m. Monday. Officers responded to the intersection of Prouty Street and N Burdick Street where they found a 48-year-old Kalamazoo man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the stomach.   • Home destroyed in early morning fire

    SAND LAKE, Mich. — Fire crews in Kent County responded to an early morning house fire in Sand Lake. It started around 6 a.m. at a home in the 5400 block of 21 Mile Road. Crews on the scene tell us the fire started from a wooden stove. Everyone was able to make it out safely, but the home is being called a total loss.

    Man dies in truck crash

    CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man from Kent County is dead after he crashed his truck in Muskegon County’s Casnovia Township. According to the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 11pm Thursday. Police say Larry Dale Weener lost control of the truck and rolled down a hill on North Newaygo Road near Moon Road . He was alone in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kalamazoo car dealer and philanthropist Bill Wright has passed away. The 54-year-old was on vacation at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida. No cause of death has been listed. Wright became a successful business man with car dealerships in Kalamazoo and Paw Paw. He built his business with the motto “Yes We Can” and used that to end every commercial.     FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man is recovering after rolling his car in Fruitport Township early Friday morning. The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Fruitport Road west of Cooley Road. Someone passing by reported the crash and when police arrived, they found a 22-year-old male from the Muskegon County area inside. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
