  • Man arrested in Grand Rapids after domestic gun threat

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– The Grand Rapids Police Department say they arrested a man threatening his ex-girlfriend with a handgun on Tuesday. Around 10:19am, officers were called to a home where a woman got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend, who went to his car to grab a gun. When officers arrived, they found the 28-year-old man sitting in his truck with a .45 cal. handgun and ammunition inside. The man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.   • Oceana County Sheriff’s Office seeking stolen snowblowers

    NEWFIELD TWP., Mich.–The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on two snowblowers that were stolen from a business in Newfield Township on Tuesday. The two snowblowers were chained outside of Burrell’s Service Center, located on S. 19th Ave., and were suspected to be stolen Monday night.   • Large marijuana growing operation found in Barry County

    BARRY COUNTY, Mich.– The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) conducted Domestic Cannabis Eradication and Suppression Program (DCE/SP)  flights on Tuesday, and found a large growing operation in Barry County. During the federally-funded flights used to locate and remove illegally grown marijuana, SWET detectives were able to find marijuana plants being grown at a Barry County home.     COMSTOCK PARK, Mich.– One in every eight people in West Michigan rely on Feeding America West Michigan for the nutrition they need. Feeding America received a large donation on Tuesday from Smithfield and SpartanNash to help with their efforts. Smithfield is in its eighth year of their ‘Helping Hungry Homes’ tour, and in collaboration with SpartanNash, made a stop to donate more than 25,000 pounds of protein to Feeding America West Michigan.
