    PLAINWELL, Mich. — Police are searching for a suspect after they say he robbed a bank using the threat of an explosion. The PNC bank in downtown Plainwell was reportedly robbed just before 12:00 p.m. Thursday.  The area was on lock down as police search for the suspect.  Nearby buildings were evacuated.   • Hearing postponed in alleged murder of 2-year-old girl

    KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A hearing scheduled today for a man charged with murdering the young daughter of his girlfriend has been postponed. Rickey Whiteside is accused of killing Londyn Amir, 2, on April 29 at the Lazy T Motel on Plainfield in Grand Rapids Township.  He was originally charged with just child abuse, but Amir died three days later, so Prosecutor Chris Becker issued a new murder charge.   • Driver charged in crash that left local Marine and father dead

    KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A driver involved in a January crash that left a local Marine and his father dead has been charged with several counts related to the case. U.S. Marine Joel Kinsey, 20, was killed when a vehicle he was in was involved in a crash on 14 Mile Road in Oakfield Township. His father, Jerry Kinsey, was driving the vehicle. He was initially left in critical condition following the crash. He has since died from his injuries. […]

  • 19-year-old girl missing out of Lowell found

    UPDATE: Lowell Police say that Leah Lilly has been found and thanks everyone for their help. LOWELL, Mich. — Police are asking for the public’s help Tuesday to find a missing teenager.  19-year-old Leah Lilly was last seen at the Fallasburg dam in downtown Lowell on Tuesday evening.  She was reportedly wearing black jeans and a hooded sweatshirt at the time.   • Victim identified in fatal M-37 crash as beloved young father

    TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police have identified the man killed in a traffic crash Monday afternoon as Matthew Hoaglin, 33, of Stanton.
