    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– Grand Rapids Police Department are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found early Saturday in a church parking lot. Police say the man’s body was discovered sometime around 6:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the International Fellowship Church, located in the 3700 block of Kalamazoo Ave, by a parishioner of the church.   • Grand Rapids Police: Man grazed by bullet after multiple shots fired

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–Grand Rapids Police say they are searching for a suspect who fired several shots at a home in the 800 block of Adams Street, SE. It was just before 2pm on Monday when one of the bullets that bounced off the house located near Marshall and Adams ST., SE,  grazed an adult male in the stomach.  The man was treated and released at the scene. Grand Rapids Police are still investigating.      

  • Spring party for special children

    WYOMING, Mich.– AMBUCS (American Business Clubs) held their 30th Annual Springfest Party for special needs children in West Michigan. The party was held at the Grand Valley Armory on 44th Street, S.W., and hosted over two hundred children on Wednesday evening. Springfest is run by volunteers and area business donations. The AMBUCS event was free to the special needs children and included magic show entertainment, local mascots and dinner.  

  • Motorcycle crash victims found the morning after accident in Barry Co.; 1 dead

    HASTINGS, Mich.–  Jason William Roe, 27, was killed in a Sunday night crash near Hastings, according to a release from the Barry County Sheriff’s Department. Roe and a another motorcyclist, 19-year-old Zackary Rosenberger, were involved in the crash on W. State Road at about 10 p.m.  Sunday.  Emergency crews were not alerted to the crash until Monday morning and did find the victims until roughly 11:30 a.m., according to a release.     GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–The Grand Rapids Fire Department (GRFD) said two floors of Viewpointe Apartments were evacuated Thursday morning after a fire started in a sixth floor apartment. The GRFD were called to the apartments, located at 2745 Birchrest on Grand Rapids’ southeast side, around 9 a.m. No one in the unit was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.     GANGES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The death of a 48-year-old woman is being investigated as a homicide, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators were called to the 6200 block of 116th Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Sara Lee Knight, and deputies are seeking her husband Harold Knight as a person of interest.
