  • Crews investigate cause of fire at Graphics Packaging

    KALAMAZOO, Mich– Investigators are working to determine what caused a fire at Graphics Packaging Tuesday afternoon. Crews received a call around 1:20 p.m. about a fire at the warehouse off N. Pitcher Street, and arrived on scene in minutes to find flames coming from the roof.  Additional resources and crews were brought in to help put out the fire. Officials say it was finally extinguished after about four hours. No firefighters or employees were hurt in the fire.

    MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich– Multiple crews were dispatched to a fire at 309 E. Hackley Avenue Monday evening. The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. at an abandoned apartment complex, which officials say had formally been an adult foster care home prior to being condemned.   • Portion of U.S. 131 in Kent County reopened after multi-vehicle crash

    KENT COUNTY, Mich– Southbound U.S. 131 has reopened at 100th street. MDOT tweeted out the update shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday. That part of the highway was closed earlier in the afternoon, due to a multi-vehicle crash. Allegan County tells FOX 17 that one of the drivers lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the second vehicle as a result. There were no injuries related to this crash.   • Police: Man originally named suspect in teen’s homicide was not in Michigan at the time

    HOLLAND, Mich– As investigators in Ottawa County continue to investigate the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy, they say the man originally believed to be the suspect wasn’t in Michigan at the time. The shooting happened at the Hampton Inn off Felch Street in Holland at 12:04 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say 14-year-old Troy “T.J.” Wells Jr. was found with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital, but did not survive.   • Suspect causes thousands of dollars in damage with broken windows, struggles with police

    KALAMAZOO, Mich– A female resident was arrested Sunday, after investigators say she damaged windows at multiple businesses. Around 5 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety investigated two separate incidents of windows at Downtown Kalamazoo businesses being broken out, causing thousands of dollars in damages.   • Detroit Metro Airport closed due to weather

    ROMULUS, Mich– As snow and ice continue to fall around Michigan, Detroit Metropolitan Airport has closed. According to FOX 2, the airport is estimated to reopen around 1 a.m. The FAA says runways are currently being treated for ice. Flights can be tracked on the airport’s website.
