    MORTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Crews plan to resume their search Sunday morning for a man who went missing in Mecosta County Saturday. According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, the 68-year-old man jumped off a pontoon in Round Lake around 5 p.m. and never resurfaced.     WAYLAND, Mich. — A warrant was served in Allegan County this week in connection to a sex trafficking ring and drug crimes investigation that’s been ongoing since last October. Wayland police executed a warrant around 7 p.m. Monday on E Maple Street between Railroad and Vine streets around 7 p.m. Both Michigan State Police and the FBI were brought in to assist with the investigation, which resulted in evidence dating back to 2017.   • Fire captain’s daughter hospitalized with brain cancer

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich– A 7-year-old girl has been hospitalized as she deals with the effects of a brain tumor. In February 2018, Avery Betts was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, also known as DIPG. There is no known cure, and it is difficult to treat.     TEKONSHA, Mich– A search was conducted in Calhoun County Sunday, in an effort to find the remains of Mary Lands. The Venus Foundation‘s Missing Persons Division was assisted by K9 Human Remains Detection for a ground search in Tekonska, after organizers say two different tips were received about Lands’ remains being placed there.   • Baby found in motel room with dead parents is breathing on her own

    WHITEHALL, Mich– A baby found in a motel room with her deceased parents on Friday is now breathing on her own. Relatives told FOX 17 Monday, the breathing tube for the little girl named Skylah was taken out. They also say they’re waiting to see if her kidneys will recover on their own.     KALAMAZOO, Mich–  A man was arrested Monday afternoon, after police in Kalamazoo say shots were fired during an argument. Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Banbury Road around 12:40 p.m.  While en-route, officers received additional reports about gunshots being fired.     GRANDVILLE, Mich– Two men from Detroit were arrested Sunday, following an attempted robbery at the Jared near Rivertown Crossings Mall. Police say they received the report of the robbery at 4:37 p.m. Investigators say one suspect entered the store and smashed a jewelry case with a hammer, and that a second suspect remained in a vehicle as a getaway driver.   • Crews investigate cause of fire at Graphics Packaging

    KALAMAZOO, Mich– Investigators are working to determine what caused a fire at Graphics Packaging Tuesday afternoon. Crews received a call around 1:20 p.m. about a fire at the warehouse off N. Pitcher Street, and arrived on scene in minutes to find flames coming from the roof.  Additional resources and crews were brought in to help put out the fire. Officials say it was finally extinguished after about four hours. No firefighters or employees were hurt in the fire.

  • Crews respond to fire at former adult foster care house in Muskegon Heights

    MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich– Multiple crews were dispatched to a fire at 309 E. Hackley Avenue Monday evening. The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. at an abandoned apartment complex, which officials say had formally been an adult foster care home prior to being condemned.
