ST. LOUIS, Mich. — Five-year-old Beau Belson was found dead in a pond near his family's home in Belvidere the day after Christmas. Now, communities across Michigan are coming together to support his family.

“No, I don’t know them, but it doesn’t matter if I know them. I’d hope that if something happened to me, that someone would want to step up and do the same thing,” St. Louis Moose Lodge Member Kim Maclennan said.

Kim Maclennan is running a benefit dinner for Beau's family at the Moose Lodge in St. Louis. They're one county over from Beau's family. Beau's family says they are forever greatful for the support.

“I just can’t believe my grandson and his little light and his little heart have spread and touched so many people,” Beau's grandmother, Holly Messer said.

A GoFundMe has also been set up to help the family with expenses. It's already surpassed it's original goal of $15,000, just in the last day alone.

Loved ones tell FOX 17, visitation for Beau will be at the Brigham Funeral Home in Lakeview.

His celebration of life will be held at 11am Saturday, January 4 2020, at the New Beginnings Church in Six Lakes.

A luncheon will follow at the Lakeview VFW Hall.
