DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Portage, Mich. native Carson Hocevar is back in the NASCAR Truck Series beginning Sunday, August 16 at Daytona International Speedway.
However, the race will look a bit different as the World Center of Racing debuts its 3.57-mile road course for the first time in series history.
The race will include high speeds on the speedway as well as 14 turns throughout the course layout and it will be a new experience for the 17-year-old driver.
"Even with no road course experience, I'm very eager to try my hand at the Daytona road course," Hocevar said, "and gain valuable experience and seat time that will help me as I progress in my racing career."
Hocevar will make his first start with Niece Motorsports and will drive the No. 40 GM Parts Now Chevrolet Silverado.
Sunday will mark Hocevar's first start of the year in the NASCAR Truck Series, but it certainly won't be his last. The West Michigan native will take part in eight total races with Niece Motorsports including Dover (8/21), Gateway (8/30), Darlington (9/6), Richmond (9/10), Bristol (9/17), Martinsville (10/30) and Phoenix (11/6).
"I've been waiting all season," Hocevar added, "closely watching the truck races and Niece Motorsports teams from afar."
