GRAND RAPIDS — A local church is donating $10,000 to Kids' Food Basket to help area kids during the pandemic.

In the past 29 weeks, Kids’ Food Basket has distributed over 479,909 emergency meals at 70 community distribution sites serving low-income families. As the need for healthy, balanced meals continues, St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church is stepping into help.

“Our mission at St. Nicholas is to seek and share Christ’s love with everyone. In the midst of this crisis we are grateful for the support of Antiochian Orthodox Charities/Food for Hungry People’s program. It has allowed us to contribute to Kids Food Basket in order to help feed some of the most vulnerable people in our community” stated Fr. Michael Nasser the pastor of St. Nicholas.

“Kids Food Basket depends on the contributions of our partners as we battle hunger and the pandemic. We are grateful for the continued support of St. Nicholas,” said Julie VanGessel, Community Development Director at Kids Food Basket.

KFB serves children across Allegan, Kent, Muskegon and Ottawa counties.
