GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Friends of Grand Rapids Parks has increased the number of urban trees over the years, working towards the city’s goal of 40 percent tree canopy.
Now hundreds of trees that they planted need some TLC, and our youth get the chance to join the first-ever Friends of GR Parks Green Team to help water each and every tree.
This new paid summer youth employment program will give the kids job skills while helping their neighborhood environment.
