President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are closer to a general election rematch.
The two front-runners of their respective parties nearly swept every Super Tuesday contest, building on their massive delegate leads. President Biden is now about 500 delegates away from clinching the Democratic nomination, while Trump needs fewer than 300 delegates to claim the GOP presidential nomination.
Republicans and Democrats in over a dozen states cast their ballots on Super Tuesday primary, marking the largest delegate haul on the nominating calendar.
Trump's only defeat was in Vermont, which Nikki Haley narrowly won. President Biden also suffered a defeat on Tuesday when Jason Palmer upset the president in the American Samoa caucuses.

Despite the shock loss, President Biden was happy with his Super Tuesday showing, and immediately went on the offensive against his likely general election opponent.
“Tonight’s results leave the American people with a clear choice: Are we going to keep moving forward or will we allow Donald Trump to drag us backwards into the chaos, division, and darkness that defined his term in office?“ President Biden said. "Four years ago, I ran because of the existential threat Donald Trump posed to the America we all believe in."
Trump looked past Haley in his comments from Mar-a-Lago late Tuesday.
"We're going to take back our country," Trump told supporters. "We are going to do it right. We are going to have the greatest economy in the history of our country; we are going to top what we did. We are going to be the energy center of the world."
Although Trump will likely win an overwhelming majority of Republican delegates on Tuesday, Haley refused to concede.
"Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump," said Olivia Perez-Cubas, national spokesperson for the Haley campaign.
