Urinary Incontinence: What you need to know

Posted
and last updated

Urinary Incontinence can wake you up in the middle of the night, or interrupt your workout routine, or make you cross your legs when it's time to sneeze. It's a condition found in women who have involuntary leakage of urine, and control over the urinary sphincter is either lost or weakened.

Shefali Sharma, MD, FACOG Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Spectrum Health Women's Health Center, discusses the side effects of this condition and how it can be treated.

Spectrum Health Women's Health & Wellness Center is located at 4069 Lake Dr. SE, Suite 118 in Grand Rapids.
