Caregivers at Spectrum Health know patients not being able to have visitors and loved ones at their bedside can be very isolating. But they've come up with a way to let patients know they are not along with the Well Wishes Program.
The COVID-19 pandemic has restricted visitors at Spectrum Health hospitals, but communities have an opportunity to brighten a patient’s day by sending a Well Wish. Spectrum Health launched the “Well Wishes” online initiative in early May so people can let patients know they are not forgotten and have an entire community thinking about them.
Spectrum Health will be collecting patients well wishes and sharing them in their clinical locations every week. Where available, they'll be displayed on television monitors in patient rooms, on a dedicated channel.
Submitted messages are screened to ensure patient privacy before they are posted – any information that identifies the patient is not included.
Photos of crafts or drawings are encouraged. Anyone can spread kindness with just a few clicks by visiting spectrumhealth.org/wellwishes.
