LEAWOOD, Kan. — AMC is reopening theatres in various Michigan locations on Friday, Oct. 9.
The movie theatre chain has released a detailed protocol under the AMC Safe & Clean plan, which requires the use of masks (though they can be briefly removed to consume snacks), and auditoriums will be limited to 40 percent normal capacity. They say cashless transactions are preferred, but patrons may still pay with cash at ticket counters if desired (this does not apply to concession stands, however).
"From the moment we made the decision back in March to temporarily shutter our theatres," says CEO & President Adam Aron, "we immediately began to formulate a comprehensive, effective and responsible health and sanitation plan which would allow us to move forward."
