DeVos Place COVID-19 vaccination clinic seeks non-clinical volunteers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The West Michigan Vaccine Clinic at DeVos Place is looking for community volunteers to support non-clinical roles, according to a news release Tuesday.

When enough vaccine is available for the clinic to operate at full capacity, about 150 volunteers will be needed per four-hour shift.

Volunteers may help with greeting clinic attendees, providing directional assistance, escorting attendees who need help, sanitizing and organizing supplies, performing temperature checks and more.

Non-clinical volunteers do not need to have prior health care experience.

Community members ages 18 and older may fill out the volunteer survey hereif interested.

Other requirements include not having any felonies or misdemeanors within the last 10 years, have a valid driver’s license with no suspensions in the past five years and no having had a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 for at least 14 days prior to volunteering.

The survey will include authorization for a routine background check.

Eligible volunteers will receive a confirmation email and instructions for signing up for available shifts.
