124,687 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 124,687.

The number of cases increased 1,054 from yesterday, when there were 123,633 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 898 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,762 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 11 from yesterday, when there were 6,751 deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 20 new deaths.

Statewide, 95,051 people have recovered from the virus as of Sept. 25. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 7,210,067 cases, and there have been 206,494 deaths — while 2,813,305 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
