64,132 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 64,132.

The number of cases has increased 262 from yesterday, when there were 63,870 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Yesterday, the state reported 373 new cases.

The state says there have been 5,951 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 4 from yesterday, when there were 5,947 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported 32 new deaths.

Statewide, 51,099 people have recovered from the virus as of June 27. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 2,658,234 cases, and there have been 127,681 deaths — while 720,631 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
