GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Amazon plans to add more than 1,000 new workers at its facility on 68th Street in southern Kent County, said a spokesperson in an email to FOX 17.
The company it has already hired more than 80,000 new employees company-wide to meet higher demand for products delivered to customers staying at home related to COVID-19.
Workers will be performing duties picking product, packing, shipping, and delivering.
Many of the new hires are expected to be people whose job situations have changed in response to the coronavirus.
