GRANDVILLE, Mich. — Calvin Christian High School won't field a varsity football team this fall.
The school's athletic director, Tom Bouma, told FOX 17 about the decision this afternoon.
Bouma said a lack of upperclassmen wanting to play football this fall lead to the cancellation.
He added there will still be a JV team this fall.
Bouma said if football is moved to the spring, then the school could reinstate the team.
He added that a decision on spring football is one for a later date.
The Squires' home opener was scheduled for Sept. 3 against Manistee.
