GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids neighborhood is spreading smiles around their community by passing out hand-made smiley faces to be posted on doors and windows.
“It’s happy,” said Dantte Sherman who passed out the pieces of paper on Sunday. “I mean there’s so much going on. We’re all on the same team.”
Roxana Cortes-Trinidad also helped pass out smiles with Sherman.
“I think this is a time where we can all think about others,” said Cortes-Trinidad. “This is a time to not be selfish.”
Together, the two women passed out over 90 smiley faces to two neighborhoods while respecting social distancing.
They hope they can get their community more involved throughout the quarantine with future events, including a neighborhood candle lighting on Friday night.
