Read the latest epidemic order keeping indoor dining closed until at least Feb. 1

(WXYZ) — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and MDHHS Director Robert Gordon announced a new epidemic order, going into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The order keeps indoor dining closed, similar to the previous order, which was set to expire Friday at 11:59 p.m. This latest order expires at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 31, and restaurants are expected to open up on Feb. 1.

It does allow indoor group exercise and non-contact sports, which means some high school winter sports may be able to resume.
