SPARTA, Mich. — A staff member at Sparta Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19, Superintendent Peter Bush said Tuesday.
The individual was on campus every day last week, according to a letter sent to families.
Parents of students supervised by the staff member and employees that may have had close contact will be notified.
“All safety measures have been taken to protect our students and staff, including thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the classrooms and building,” Bush said. “Please continue to monitor your children for the onset of symptoms related to COVID-19. If you note any change in the health of your child, please keep them home and call your medical provider.”
The school cannot disclose the name of the staff member because of privacy laws.
