A couple is dead after being beaten at a home in Muskegon County, and their adopted adult son has been taken in custody.
Officers were initially called to a domestic fight in progress outside of a home off Sundrop Circle in Egelston Township around 3:35 p.m. Thursday.
When deputies arrived, they found a man and a woman dead, one inside of the home and the other outside.
No weapons were confiscated at the scene.
"It appears some sort of blunt force trauma was used, some type of an assault," Sgt. Ridout, Muskegon County Sheriff's Office, said. "Fists and/or other objects were used."
The couple's son was on scene when investigators arrived. Neighbors tell FOX 17 that they did try to intervene as the fight was happening.
Officials say they are in the process of notifying next of kin.
