BENTON CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 35-year-old Benton Harbor man was arrested Wednesday evening after a shooting at a cell phone store that left another man seriously injured.

It happened about 5:45 p.m. at the Metro by T-Mobile located at 2004 S. M-139 in Benton Charter Township, according to a news release Thursday.

Upon arrival, the Benton Charter Township Police Department found the victim with multiple injuries and were told that the shooter was running northbound behind other businesses.

After a short foot pursuit and a brief struggle, officers were able to apprehend the shooter.

The victim was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland by Medic 1 Ambulance.

The shooter was taken to the Berrien County Jail, where he’s being charged with a count of assault with intent to murder, along with “numerous” other charges.
