Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said more than 3 million absentee ballots have been requested in Michigan, with two weeks to go for the November election.
"To have reached this benchmark two weeks prior to polls closing is really quite remarkable," Benson said.
Benson said Michigan is on its way to have more people voting in the 2020 election than ever before.
More than 50 percent of voters have already returned their ballots, Benson said. Overall, 1.5 million have already voted this year. To compare, 4.7 million people voted in the 2016 election.
